The results of this study showed that homeroom teacher’s role in the maintenance of guidance and counseling were still weakness.
The approach used was a descriptive case study, with key informants in the study is the homeroom teacher of SMAN 1 Pariangan Tanah Datar. The design of this research was qualitative research. This study can be produced models and troubled student program based education. This study aimed to describe and answer the research question, the role of the homeroom teachers in the maintenance of guidance and counseling in school and its impact on the dealing with troubled students in the founded class. Abstract The homeroom teacher can be a primary relation of counselor in dealing with troubled students, because they have full responsibilities in handling students’ problems in the class.
